TNI Strengthens Ties with Border Communities: A Heartwarming KOMSOS Program in Bilogai Village

Intan Jaya - Amid the challenges of Indonesia's remote border regions, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has once again proven its commitment to community engagement and security. On Friday, November 15, 2024, soldiers from the 509 Raider Infantry Battalion, under the operational command of HABEMA, conducted a 'KOMSOS VISITING THE COMMUNITY' program in Bilogai Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah. This community outreach initiative aimed not only to ensure security but also to strengthen social ties between the military and local residents.

Led by Second Lieutenant Irawan Suharto, the Territorial Officer of the 509 Task Force, the soldiers visited homes throughout the village, engaging in friendly conversations with the locals. The soldiers listened attentively to the villagers' concerns, shared updates on security, and simply enjoyed the camaraderie that comes from a strong partnership between the military and the community. The interaction was filled with laughter and warmth, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.

The villagers of Bilogai welcomed the soldiers with open arms, expressing their gratitude for the TNI’s ongoing presence in their lives. "Thank you, Commander 509. God bless, " said Mr. Yosua Gwijangge, a local resident, reflecting the heartfelt appreciation shared by many.

This program is part of a larger strategy by the TNI to foster closer relationships with the people in the most remote and challenging regions of Indonesia. Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the Commander of HABEMA, praised the 509 Task Force’s initiative, stating, "This program is a testament to TNI's commitment to inclusive social communication with all parties, supporting the acceleration of development in Papua." His words highlight the critical role of such programs in fostering regional development and stability.
